I got this little bike stand a few weeks and so far it has been a very useful addition to my cleaning and maintenance tools.
It is a simple folding design with two geared heads that mesh together to hold the stand in position. It can go either very wide with just enough clearance for the tire above the bottom stand, or very narrow with lots of clearance, although that makes it very unstable. It also folds flat for storage.
The top of the stand has two channels where your chain stays sit. The channels do have a rubber band that would wrap around your chain stays to hold them on, but they do not offer any added stability to the stand. The only purpose is to keep the stand from sliding back and forth on the rear of the bike.
I am not sure how well this would hold a bike with boost spacing (a wider axle) in the rear but we will see when I get my new bike next year.
Overall I have been pretty happy with the purchase. For only $25 it gets my back wheel off the ground, and keeps it steady while I wash the bike. This also makes chain, gear and any other work that needs the tire spinning much easier. In the future I will probably save up for a professional model, but for now this is doing the job just fine.
