Reviewing My First Month Of Riding And Blogging Mountain Biking Singletrack Trail Riding Blogging

1 Month Blog Review

A full month ago I decided to start chronicling my journey in to the world of mountain biking. I picked up a bike, got my gear all set and started riding.

I also started this blog. I poured over the themes at WordPress and landed on the Hemingway Re-Written theme. Over the last month I have posted non stop. I have developed both my writing skills and my riding skills, all while having a tonne of fun.

Mountain Biking Is Addicting

I have been having a blast riding. It is quickly becoming something I think about non stop. I read about it, I write about it, and I watch way too many videos about it.

Bragg creek trail viewsI also love doing it. I love the feeling of the wind whipping around me. I love pushing up a hill, just to go down the other side of it.It is incredibly demanding physically and mentally, but I am enjoying the challenge.

I have met some awesome people while doing it. There have been so many that have stopped to give me advice when I ask. There have been people who helped me when I have been in trouble, all with just a simple thank you as repayment. This sport has some of the nicest people participating, and I can’t wait to meet even more.

I am getting better every time I ride. Pushing myself each time to take a corner harder, or go a little faster. I still crash sometimes, but that means that I am trying to improve. In the upcoming months I will continue to work on my skills, with lots more practice at home that will carry over to the trails.

I can’t wait to get out and ride again, but there is also another hobby that is vying for my attention.

Blogging Has Been A Surprise

1 Month Blog Review HeaderWhen I first started blogging about mountain biking, I assumed that it would be something that I would do to share my hobby with friends and family. Blogging has quickly evolved in to just as much of a hobby as my mountain biking has been.

I am constantly thinking about things to share, write about and create. Blogging has been incredibly fun, but also has its own challenges.

Blog ViewershipThe best part for me has been growing my readership. As you can see from the picture I am figuring out this traffic thing!

At the end of the month I have really been trying to drive traffic to my site. Previously I had been sharing it on my personal Facebook but since then I have made a Facebook blog page and joined a bunch of blogging groups which has seen my traffic dramatically increase. There is still lots to do on that front so I will keep working.

I am also incredibly thankful for the people that chose to follow me. It is wonderful to know that someone actually took the time to read what I put on the page. So thanks to all my current followers!

One of the funnest parts of blogging is designing and changing my blog. Almost every day I look at it and wonder how I can improve it. Previously being a web designer and developer, I want the blog to look its best. It is something I will continue to work on all the time.

What The Next Steps Will Be

IMG_6658The future will have some huge changes coming up. I am going back to school in January to get back in to the web design world. Winter will be here and there will be no riding for a few months. That won’t stop me from blogging though!

I will be continuing to improve my riding skills over the next months. I have to put in the work if I want to get better. That goes for the blog too. There is always something I can do to improve both, and that will never stop.

Please follow along as I keep journeying and exploring these two amazing hobbies. Thanks for all your support!
